March News Update

Cycling:
From a two person break, Sharlotte Lucas wins the first round of the Elite racing series with Tessa Jenkins in her first senior race coming a respectable 8th.
On the come back to racing Kyle Ralfe takes 3rd in C grade at the grueling “Main Divide” road race taking you 109km from Darfield to Arthurs pass, over porters pass.
At this year’s re-vamped “Girls on Bikes” the “women on wheels” 76km bike race, a group of six broke away from the field containing three PT Systems riders Lisa Kristiansen, Tessa Jenkins and Jess Kikstra only 6km into the race and held on the to finish. Jess won the U19 category and crossed the line in third overall with Tessa 2nd in the U19 and Lisa won the 40+ and was second across the line.  In the 46km Race Gabby Gray won the overall.

We hope Everyone had a great Christmas and New Years. Getting some quality training in for the coming 2013 summer events season!!!!!

Here’s a picture of new BikeNZ U17 boys south Island based road coach Marc Prutton with some members of the squad and other age group coaches at their recent training camp held in Christchurch.
